SUPPORT ON MANAGEMENT REPORTER?

Microsoft made an announcement earlier this year that has caused a lot of confusion in regards to Microsoft Management Reporter.  I spoke to a Great Plains Dynamics customer yesterday who told me that MR is no longer supported.  So, what is the truth?

I found some follow up announcements from Microsoft that will hopefully bring some clarity.

I’m quoting Pam Misialek, she is a Microsoft Dynamics GP marketing manager.

“Management Reporter for Dynamics GP will continue to be supported and ship now and in the future releases of Microsoft Dynamics GP.  Large features like going fully to the cloud and other major enhancements will not be made to Management Reporter for Dynamics GP.

The Management Reporter for Dynamics GP product will not be discontinued.”

Another Microsoft employee (Ryan Sandness) posted

1. “Management Reporter is the preferred financial reporting solution for Microsoft   Dynamics AX, GP, and SL.”
2. “Management Reporter will continue to be supported through the lifecycle of the ERP versions it ships with.”
3. “Management Reporter has been renamed to financial reporting in Microsoft Dynamics AX ‘7’.”

In conclusion, I believe it’s safe to say that the Management Reporter is still being supported and still the preferred financial reporting solution.
