It’s the most wonderful time of the year! With Santa coming in just three short days, the holiday spirit is in full effect. Soon, Santa will be loading up his sleigh for his infamous Christmas Eve ride to deliver presents to the children of the world! But how does he do it each year? Does he run into issues? He may need software to keep his elves and presents in order. Here are some examples of software he could use to make his job easier.
That sounds like an arduous task for one man! Double checking if each child in the world deserves gifts or coal by December 25th of each year using a paper and pen seems awfully time-consuming. Santa could benefit from a CRM or Customer Relationship Management system. Every child’s name, list history and background could be uploaded into this system. That way it is easy for Santa to determine the naughty and nice list and check it twice, all in one system! Having a CRM eliminates time-consuming tasks and keeps your data current and accurate.
This cheerful song reminds us of the importance elves play in making Christmas successful each year. Before the elves get to completed products, they must first plan how they will produce the finished goods. To do this, production management is necessary to control the entire production process and minimize job costs from components to finished goods. Elves also need to keep track of the materials being used to make the toys. Within a Manufacturing ERP system comes a MRP or Materials Requirement Planning, where you can accurately balance supply and demand. Having these two features can ensure elves have accurate amounts of materials and a balanced supply and demand.
Not only do elves make, test and keep count of the presents, they also pack Santa’s sleigh before he leaves! One benefit of having Distribution ERP is you can configure statuses of your inventory. By having this solution, elves can accurately pack Santa’s sleigh with the correct amount of presents. Plus, they can manage the amount of inventory going in transit as opposed to inventory left behind. Having accurate control over inventory ensures all toys in transit are correct and nothing is left behind. Once the sleigh is packed, off Santa goes!
Santa knows when you’re being good or bad, so of course he will know if you are awake or asleep. To help Santa even more, he may just need an alerts and notifications system. What if someone on the nice list does something naughty before he arrives at their house? What if there is a bad snowstorm and he should take a different route? What if a toy fell off his sleigh while he was flying? All of these questions can easily be answered by having an alerts and notifications system. He could receive these alerts and be able to resolve them sooner. Having this network in place can keep Santa informed and give him a better chance of staying on time for his deliveries.
Do you have some of the same struggles as Santa? You probably don’t live in the North Pole and have a sleigh full of toys made by elves, but you may need some of the same software Santa does!
