Sage 100 2022.1

Sage 100 is pleased to announce the availability of Sage 100 Release 2022.1 and Sage 100 Payroll 2.22.2 as of Thursday, June 30, 2022.

Here’s What’s New:

• • The Inventory Requirements Planning (IRP) module is now compatible with Sage 100 version 2022.0 of Production Management. As of the 2022.1 release, the updated version of IRP will be automatically installed when a customer upgrades to 2022.1 (or Product Update (PU) 1). Important: IRP is automatically registered if Production Management is registered. A new license key is not required.
  • Maintain Projected Demands has been added to the main menu.
  • The open authorization (OAuth) method for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) email requests, is now available for subscription and non-subscription customers. Note: This feature was originally released in 2021 and available for subscription only

Deprecation of Microsoft Basic Authentication and TLS 1.0 and 1.1

Additionally, Sage 100 has announced two important technical updates for Sage 100 customers.

1. Effective October 1, 2022: Microsoft will disable Basic authentication and will require the use of modern authentication (OAuth) for connection to servers, services, and API endpoints, such as Exchange on-line and O365 email tenants.

This means that in-product email services will stop working if customers are on versions of Sage 100 prior to 2020.1 prior to 2020.8. We are recommending all customers upgrade to the latest version of Sage 100 by October 1, 2022.

2. Effective September 2023: Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a third-party component that is widely adopted and designed to facilitate privacy and data security when communicating over the internet. TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 have been formally deprecated by the Internet Engineering Task Force since June 2018 and they are highly recommending usage of TLS 1.2.

Therefore, by the end of next summer, Sage will no longer support TLS 1.0 and 1.1. It will be necessary for customers to upgrade to Sage 100 version 2020.1 or higher by end of summer 2023.
