Stephen R Covey published his "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" in the late 1980's. He discovered over years of reading and studying success that certain underlying themes seemed to recur. The result was his seven habits, equally applicable to your personal, social or business life. The FRX Essentials 1 and Essentials 2 course are designed to help your company become more effective. The following examples demonstrate how FRX can help your organization to sharpen the Saw.
Habit 1 Be Proactive FRx allows you to create dynamic financial statements with the power to analyze your current financial situation and project for the future. With the flexibility to mix and match building blocks, FRx can you give you the reports you need, when you need them. Habit 2 Begin with the end in mind. You can create financial statements that do not require you to manually update them every time they are generated. FRx reports can be designed to update column headers and dates, or even use different formats automatically for different periods. Habit 3 Put first things first. FRx lets you create financial reports that are easy to design, understand and navigate. Even in keeping it simple you can get the robust information you need out of the system. Habit 4 Think Win Win With FRx you can distribute reports to DM’s in many formats, allowing for everyone in the organization to have the most current information and contribute to the decision making process. By streamlining the report distribution process, you can eliminate one of the most time consuming aspects of the Reporting process. Habit 5 Seek first to understand, then to be understood Once you’re familiar with FRx, you will be able to create financial reports that are less cumbersome and more informative. Drill down capability will give you the tools you need to answer the simple questions of “How” and “Why”. Habit 6 Synergize With FRx you can use financial data from multiple General Ledgers for Consolidations, production data from an Excel spreadsheet for Statistical reporting or Budget values from Microsoft Forecaster to create a series of reports that give you a total solution to your monthly reporting needs. You can then distribute the reports via email or post it on the web for a full integrated solution. Habit 7 Sharpen the Saw ACC’s motto has always been “We provide knowledge so you have Control”. By giving our clients an understanding of how FRx can work for them in their environments. ACC has been able to allow our students to be less reliant on VAR’s and more reliant on themselves, to get what they want, when they need. This powerful idea can really only be described by Covey's word-picture: Suppose you were to come upon someone in the woods working feverishly to saw down a tree. "What are you doing?" you ask. "Can't you see?" comes the impatient reply. "I'm sawing down this tree." "You look exhausted!" you exclaim. "How long have you been at it?" "Over five hours," he returns, "and I'm beat! This is hard work." "Well why don't you take a break for a few minutes and sharpen that saw?" you inquire. "I'm sure it would go a lot faster." "I don't have time to sharpen the saw," the man says emphatically. "I'm too busy sawing!"
