Re:What do you think of online classes vs. live web? - 2006/11/03 15:14
I have taken both online and classroom training, and both have there own advantages and disadvantages with the learning process. A good online course can provide a plethora of knowledge allowing for a student to learn beyond what a traditional course can offer. If a student wanted to learn past the basics, hyperlinks to additional sources can be made available to provide richer sources of information. Some other interesting features of an online class were how we the students talked with each other. There were class discussions using chat, and blogs, and overall I felt that I was in control of how much I wanted to learn each day. The live classroom training has the obvious advantage of someone feeding you information but it is at their pace and their control on what to teach and what I could learn. In either case both learning environments gave me the ability to ask questions, but I would choose the online environment if it was created well.
Good luck it could be interesting on how you create it.
